Washers Add a New Wrinkle in Earthquake Aid
Several local social service agencies will receive new washers and dryers from Surf laundry detergent and General Electric’s appliance division as part of an earthquake relief program.
The agencies, which were selected on the basis of the local need for laundry facilities as well as the availability of space, water and power sources, will make the appliances available to the people they serve.
Agencies in Central Los Angeles that were selected to receive the washers and dryers include:
