Woodbridge’s Johnsen Out Two Weeks

Alison Johnsen, one of two Woodbridge softball players in a collision Saturday, is expected to be out about two weeks, Coach Alan Dugard said Sunday.

Johnsen, a center fielder, and shortstop Carrie Brown were chasing a shallow fly ball and collided in the third inning of a game against Mater Dei in a Woodbridge tournament semifinal.

The game was delayed about 30 minutes and both girls were taken to the hospital, where they were held overnight for observation. Brown suffered a broken fibula. The game will resume today at 1 p.m. at Harvard Park with Mater Dei leading, 6-0.
