COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Flanagan’s Homer Gets Golden West Past Saddleback

Dan Flanagan hit a home run in the ninth to break a tie and give Golden West a 5-4 victory over Saddleback in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game Tuesday at Saddleback.
Robert Prince had a two-run double in the eighth to give Golden West (13-14, 6-8) a 4-3 lead. Mark Huffman had an RBI double in the eighth to tie it for Saddleback (18-10-1, 9-7).
Mitch Charles had three hits including a double and scored a run and drove in another for Golden West. Alfonso Flores worked the ninth for his first save for the Rustlers, who had lost to Saddleback, 9-0, on Sunday.
In other Orange Empire Conference games:
Rancho Santiago 9, Cypress 5--Matt Kastelic had two home runs and a double and drove in four runs for visiting Rancho Santiago (25-8, 8-6). He was five for five. Toby Sanchez hit his 12th home run, a two-run shot in the eighth, for the Dons.
Brandon Hoalton (8-2) got the victory and Aaron France (8-2) took the loss for Cypress (24-9, 10-4), which dropped a game behind first-place Riverside. Eric Stevens had three hits and three RBIs for Cypress, which led 4-2, going into the eighth.
Cypress had beaten Rancho Santiago, 4-0, Sunday.
Riverside 6, Orange Coast 3--Jeff Barker (9-1) pitched a complete game for Riverside (24-6, 11-3), giving up three hits, walking three and striking out four.
