VAN NUYS : Fire Causes $100,000 Damage to Buildings
A fire swept through two vacant commercial buildings in Van Nuys early Friday, causing $100,000 worth of damage but no injuries, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
The fire, which is under investigation, started about 1:45 a.m. at a complex at 14301 Aetna St., Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
About 55 firefighters battled the blaze for about 25 minutes before they were able to extinguish it, Humphrey said. Both buildings were virtually destroyed, he said.
