Golden Klair Wins Feature at Hollypark
Golden Klair rallied from 13 lengths off the pace to win the $102,900 A Gleam Handicap on the first of 13 Friday nights of racing at Hollywood Park.
Ridden by Chris McCarron and trained by Darrell Vienna, Golden Klair overtook 9-10 favorite Cargo in mid-stretch to win the seven-furlong race by two lengths.
Cargo, ridden by Gary Stevens, finished second, six lengths in front of Minidar. Tour was fourth and last.
It was the second win in as many starts at Hollywood Park for Golden Klair, a four-year-old who won the Silver Belles last Dec. 5. Golden Klair paid $7.80 and $2.80. Show wagering was canceled after Southern Truce and Desert Stormer were scratched.
