Boy, 6, Dies After Being Ejected From His Father’s Car
A 6-year-old boy was killed Saturday in a crash involving two suspected drunk drivers, police said.
The boy was a passenger in a car driven by his father, Pedro Guzman, 34, of North Hollywood, police said. Guzman’s car crashed into a pickup driven by Gilbert Ramirez, 24, of Sun Valley, said Los Angeles Police Officer Frank Zdroy of Valley Traffic Division.
According to police, the boy was not wearing a seat belt in the 6:30 p.m. crash and was ejected from the car. Police did not give the boy’s name.
Guzman swerved into oncoming lanes and hit Ramirez’s truck on Riverton Avenue near Arminta Street, Zdroy said.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving, Zdroy said.
