VENTURA : Hearing Planned on Water Fee Proposal
The Ventura City Council will hold a hearing Monday on raising residential water and sewage fees by 7% in the 1994-95 fiscal year, which begins July 1.
A median city household spends about $75.25 on water and sewage every two months. The ordinance under consideration by the council would raise that bill by $4.91.
The fee increases would pay for higher operating costs and future water and sewer projects. A limited amount would also pay for a low-interest loan program to help businesses invest in a sanitation pre-treatment operation that would lower overall sanitation costs.
The City Council meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at Ventura City Hall, 501 Poli St., Ventura.
