Residents Invited to Public Works Week
Thousand Oaks residents can get an up-close look at how city employees make signs, erase graffiti, sweep streets and maintain vehicles during National Public Works Week, beginning Monday.
The Municipal Service Center at 1993 Rancho Conejo Blvd. will host demonstrations and displays of public works equipment Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Landscape and tree maintenance crews will explain their duties and animal-control officers are scheduled to bring some furry pets to show visitors. Residents can also hop aboard a Thousand Oaks Transit bus for a ride through the city carwash, which uses recycled water.
To reserve a time for a group tour of the Municipal Service Center, call Sandi Bravo at 497-8611, Ext. 241. Individuals do not need to make reservations.
