A grass fire in Oak Park on Saturday afternoon was the first brush fire of the season, a Ventura County Fire Department spokeswoman said.
The blaze burned a three-acre field next to a residential area on the 6500 block of Oak Springs Drive about 4 p.m., the spokeswoman said. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
It took firefighters--using seven engines, a water tender and a bulldozer--a little over an hour to extinguish the blaze, she said.
