Women’s Baseball
* Your May 7 editorial, “Dream Team,” was right on point. It’s about time women are competing with men in professional baseball. Baseball is not a sport which is based upon strength alone. Speed, coordination and savvy are just a few of the essentials of a good baseball player. And women have just as much of these qualities as do their male counterparts.
I hope we will see women playing major-league ball by the end of the decade. After all, if 46-year-old men are pitching successfully in the major leagues, women in their 20s certainly can play just as well.
