CSUN’s Dunn Takes 3rd in NCAA Women’s Javelin
Cal State Northridge’s Kristin Dunn finished third in the women’s javelin Friday with a distance of 167 feet 1 inch at the NCAA track and field championships at Boise State.
Dunn, a junior, finished 13th in last year’s meet and was seeded third this year.
Dunn’s personal best is 174 feet 9 inches.
Valerie Tullock from Rice won with a distance of 187-9. Dunn was the only Northridge athlete to compete on Friday.
Today is the final day of competition. Northridge’s Joe Hicks will be competing in the shotput.
Hicks, a senior, is making his first appearance at the NCAA finals and is ranked 14th in the 17-man field.
