Shooting of Boy

Share

I was very concerned with a comment made by the Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Gil Garcetti in “Latinos Ask State Probe in Grocer’s Shooting of Boy” (May 24). The article states, “Kim had the legal right to arm himself and make a citizen’s arrest if he believed a crime had been committed, Garcetti said . . . “ Kim might have had the right to be armed but that still did not give him the right to shoot the 14-year-old boy, even if he had committed a crime. The grocer shouldn’t have taken matters into his own hands. He should have let the police handle it. This is just another reason to get rid of guns everywhere.
