IRVINE : College Chooses 2 as Teachers of Year
Irvine Valley College has selected two professors as Teachers of the Year.
The winners are Jeanne Egasse, a Spanish professor, and Vince Caiozzo, a human physiology professor.
Egasse, 42, lives in Santa Ana and has worked for the college since 1980. She also helped write a textbook for students of Spanish. Egasse holds a master’s degree from UC Irvine in linguistics.
Caiozzo, 42, lives in Mission Viejo and has taught at the college for five years. He is also an instructor at UC Irvine’s orthopedics department. He holds a doctorate in biology from UCLA.
Both teachers were selected by students. To nominate an instructor, students had to write a one-page essay describing why the teacher deserved the award. Egasse and Caiozzo were honored at the college’s May 21 commencement.
