4.1 Aftershock Rattles Westside
A magnitude 4.1 aftershock of the Jan. 17 earthquake shook the Westside and San Fernando Valley Tuesday night. There were no reports of damage or injuries.
The temblor occurred at 10:59 p.m. and was centered about three miles north-northeast of San Fernando, according to the Caltech seismology lab.
On Wednesday morning, a magnitude 3.1 aftershock of the 1992 Landers earthquake rattled the Yucca Valley in San Bernardino County, Caltech reported. The shaker hit at 7:13 a.m. and was centered 15 miles north of the community of Yucca Valley, Caltech said.
