Ania Bleszynski got a late wake-up call Sunday. When she finally answered, it was lights out for Violette Ahn.

Top-seeded Bleszynski, 17, of Thousand Oaks defeated fourth-seeded Ahn of Los Angeles, 6-3, 6-2, in the girls’ 18-and-under singles final of the Southern California Junior Sectional tennis tournament at Los Caballeros Sports Village.

Ahn, 14, broke Bleszynski’s first two services to lead, 3-1, but the 6-foot-1 Bleszynski overpowered her the rest of the match. Bleszynski, who lost in the second round in 1993, won the next five games and 20 of the remaining 24 points in the set. She also won 13 of the first 16 points in the second set.

“I just focused on moving my feet and trying to come to the net and not hang on the base line,” Bleszynski said.

In the boys’ 18-and-under final, Jakub Pietrowski of Huntington Beach defeated Derek Pope of Ojai, 6-3, 6-1. Nate Jackmon of Goleta defeated Philip Tseng of Los Angeles and Harvard-Westlake High, 7-6 (7-2), 1-6, 7-5, for third place.

Dylan Mann of Canoga Park defeated Andrew Scirteaby of Palm Springs, 6-4, 6-2, for third place in the boys’ 16-and-under division.
