Alexi Lalas is used to taking kidding about his soccer skills, which had been suspect before a fine showing in the World Cup. Still, he couldn’t let slide an introduction by Alan Rothenberg at a Major League Soccer function.

Rothenberg: “Two months ago, who would have guessed that Alexi Lalas would start every game for the U.S. team in the World Cup?”

When Lalas arrived at the podium, he opened his remarks by saying:
