A decision on the site of the Angel-Seattle Mariner series Aug. 2-4 is expected to be made today or Wednesday.
King County officials will determine whether 40,000 damaged ceiling tiles can be removed in time to play the three-game series at Seattle’s Kingdome, as scheduled. If the 59,166-seat stadium is unavailable, the series probably will be shifted to Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, home of the Oakland Athletics’ triple-A affiliate; B.C. Place in Vancouver, Canada, or Anaheim Stadium.
The Mariners, who have been forced to postpone two games with the Baltimore Orioles and shift three home games with the Red Sox to Boston’s Fenway Park, had no further comment Monday.
