BURBANK : Man Held in Double Stabbing at Party

Share

A late night party in Burbank turned violent Friday when an 18-year-old uninvited guest stabbed two party-goers, seriously wounding one of them, police said.

Burbank police arrested the alleged attacker, Jamie Gonzalez of Glendale, about four hours after the stabbing. Authorities declined to identify the victims but said that both are Burbank residents who knew the suspect.

“We don’t know what exactly started the argument,” Lt. Larry Koch said. “We know at least they were acquainted with each other before, and it appears the suspect was acquainted with other people at the party.”

Gonzalez and a friend arrived unannounced at the party at a house in the 1000 block of Clybourn Avenue, police said. They then began arguing with two guests at the party. The argument escalated into a fistfight shortly after midnight, then the stabbing occurred, Koch said.

One victim, a 21-year-old man, was in guarded condition at a local hospital after being stabbed in the chest, Koch said.

The other, a 16-year-old boy, suffered multiple cuts to his neck and arms and was treated and released from another hospital.

Gonzalez was booked for attempted murder and is being held on $1 million bail at the Burbank City Jail.
