A Palmdale teen-ager was killed and three others were injured when the car in which they were riding veered out of control and rolled over, authorities said Friday.

Tiffany Daproza, 14, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at 5:50 p.m. Thursday on Avenue P, just east of 10th Street East.

The driver of the car, Scott Ibbotson, 20, of Palmdale was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving. On Friday, he remained in jail in lieu of $25,000 bail at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Antelope Valley Station.

Deputies said Ibbotson was driving west in a 1989 Honda Civic, erratically and at high speed, when the car went out of control, slid into the dirt shoulder and rolled over, ejecting Daproza and Sara Woleslagle, 17, also of Palmdale.

Woleslagle was reported in good condition Friday at Lancaster Community Hospital.

Her sister, Amy Woleslagle, 15, and Ibbotson, who both remained in the car when the accident occurred, were treated at Palmdale Hospital Medical Center and released.

Daproza was a student at Palmdale High School, as are the other two girls.
