Share

Residents of South-Central and Simi Valley last week played out their third round of softball games since the spring riots of 1992 as part of an effort to strengthen bonds between the communities.

About 500 saw the Simi Valley adult team defeat the South-Central squad, 9-6, at Rancho Santa Susana Park on July 23. Simi Valley leads the series 2 to 1. South-Central won in the first game two years ago.

However, the local youth team, represented by students from Foshay Junior High in West Adams, beat their counterparts from Valley View Junior High, 10-8.
