Baseball Strike Plans
* I agree with your editorial “Doesn’t Anyone Care About the Fans? (July 30).” After the last (baseball) strike I ceased spending my money to help pay salaries and club expenses. Instead, I have saved it for trips and cruises. Believe it or not, it doesn’t take very many bypassed games to enjoy something far more enjoyable.
It also gripes me when I hear someone object to a doctor making $100,000 after 15 years of school.
What is the average salary of a baseball player? Could it be $1.5 million for playing a game that in the end really means nothing?
