NATIONAL LEAGUE ROUNDUP : Astros Win Third in a Row Over Rockies

Scott Servais and Craig Biggio drove in two runs apiece in Houston as the Astros defeated the Colorado Rockies, 6-2, to earn their third consecutive victory over their most troublesome foe.
Darryl Kile (8-6) gave up eight hits and two runs in 6 2/3 innings as Houston won for only the seventh time in 24 games against Colorado. Kile struck out five and did not walk a batter.
St. Louis 7, Montreal 3--Bob Tewksbury gave up only five hits and Todd Zeile hit a grand slam as St. Louis ended the Expos’ six-game winning streak with the victory in Montreal.
The loss, only the second for the NL East-leading Expos in their last 16 games, ended the Cardinals’ losing streak at four.
Tewksbury (12-10), 1-3 with a 9.43 earned-run average in his previous four starts, retired 10 in a row to start his fourth complete game.
The Cardinals led, 3-1, entering the ninth, but Mel Rojas issued two walks around a single by Tewksbury, and Zeile cleared the bases with his 17th home run. It was his third career slam and sixth homer since the All-Star break.
Florida 5, Chicago 1--Mark Gardner gave up five hits in 7 2/3 innings and Gary Sheffield drove in three runs in Chicago as the Marlins won their third in a row over the Cubs.
Gardner held the Cubs hitless for 4 1/3 innings before Rick Wilkins singled.
Gardner (4-4) walked one and struck out four. Sheffield hit his 24th homer and had a two-run double.
Pittsburgh 5, Philadelphia 1--Jon Lieber held the Phillies to three hits in 7 1/3 innings, and Dave Clark drove in two runs, as the Pirates won in Philadelphia.
Lieber (6-6) struck out six and walked one before he was relieved by Ravelo Manzanillo, who pitched 1 2/3 innings of hitless relief with three strikeouts.
