A 16-year-old boy was wounded Thursday night in a gang-related shooting, police said.

The boy, not identified because of his age, was listed in critical condition Friday at an undisclosed hospital, Orange police Sgt. Barry Weinstein said.

The victim, described by police as an Anaheim gang member, was in a car stopped at Katella Avenue and Glassell Street at 9:30 p.m. when two youths thought to be rivals pulled alongside in a pickup truck. The truck’s driver asked the four occupants of the car where they were from and then fired a handgun, Weinstein said.

The victim, riding in the back seat, was hit in the upper body.

The gunman drove off in the pickup, which was described as a dark blue Nissan with its tailgate and rear bumper missing, Weinstein said.
