Countywide : KinderCaminata Film to Be Shown
A documentary on Kinder-Caminata--a year-old program that hosts kindergarten-age children and their families at Orange County colleges to encourage higher education--will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the community room of the Irvine Ranch Water District.
The film focuses on the nearly 2,000 children who took part in the first KinderCaminata last March. Held at Rancho Santiago College, the event included a half-kilometer run and meetings with college educators and career professionals.
Sponsored by Los Amigos of Orange County, the annual event is expected to attract between 5,000 and 7,000 kindergarten-age children next March who will visit the campuses of Rancho Santiago, Fullerton and Golden West colleges.
