Arden House, a Glendale day-rehabilitation program for those suffering from schizophrenia, anxiety disorders or severe depression, will hold two fund-raisers this week to supplement a limited government-subsidized budget.

The first event, a dinner benefit at a local Sizzler Steak Restaurant, is tonight.

The second will be a square dance at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Eagle Rock on Sunday afternoon.

The Arden House exists through state funds provided by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.

The program helps people with mental illnesses by offering them safety lessons on how to avoid being victimized, field trips, arts and crafts classes and general group and individual therapy sessions.

In a “clubhouse” setting, Arden House members attend sessions three times a week, choosing activities that best suit their needs.

Tonight’s dinner will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant at 1544 Canada Blvd.

The $8.50 admission includes an entree and salad bar.

The square dance Sunday will be from 1 to 5 p.m. in the church at 2109 Chicksaw Ave.

Tickets to this event are $4.
