Associated Press
A burst of aftershock activity occurred in the area of last week’s strong earthquake on the California-Nevada border southeast of Lake Tahoe, with five moderate jolts ranging from magnitude 3.9 to 4.6 in a 12-hour period, seismologists reported Tuesday.
The National Earthquake Information Center at Golden, Colo., said the strongest of the aftershocks was felt at 10:17 p.m. Monday.
The new earthquakes caused no injuries, but some items were thrown off shelves at Gardnerville, Nev., on U.S. 395.
