SACRAMENTO —
The father of Polly Klaas, the Petaluma girl who was abducted at knifepoint from her home and later found slain, has formed an organization to raise public awareness about crimes against children, he announced Thursday.
The Santa Rosa-based Marc Klaas Foundation for Children will try to keep repeat offenders in jail, educate communities about child safety and push for legislation to protect children, Klaas said.
“I intend to make this my career,” he said.
