NEWBURY PARK : Woman Suspected in Ramming of Car
A Newbury Park woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after she rammed her estranged husband’s car, knocking it off two jack stands while he was lying underneath Friday afternoon, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.
Jimmy Lee Burns, 40, also of Newbury Park, was treated and released for a severely bruised arm at Los Robles Medical Center.
Deputies said witnesses told them Burns was working under a jacked-up car at 1355 Lawrence Drive when his wife, Marcia Burns, 43, arrived and exchanged words with him.
She left, then returned within minutes and rear-ended the vehicle, knocking it off the jack stands and onto her husband, deputies said.
Marcia Burns fled the scene and was later taken into custody, deputies said.
