LOS ANGELES : Ex-Wife of TV Star Offers Apology for Accusations
The ex-wife of actor Richard Mulligan publicly apologized for lying in a supermarket tabloid article claiming she was battered by the “Empty Nest” TV star.
“The statements were false, untrue and without foundation whatsoever,” Serina Robinson said in a written apology to Mulligan. The apology was circulated to the media by Sandy Rice, Mulligan’s publicist.
After the breakup of the couple’s nine-month marriage last year, Robinson claimed in National Enquirer articles that Mulligan was violent with her during destructive rages.
Mulligan filed a defamation suit against his ex-wife.
