Top-ranked Hart scored a decisive 35-0 knockout of Eisenhower in a nonleague game Friday night, and if quarterback Steve McKeon was the jab, then Indian tailback Ted Iacenda was the body blow.

The junior tandem hammered Eisenhower by air and by land, as Hart (5-0) piled up 405 yards of balanced offense and Indian linebacker Marc Zimmerman intercepted two passes to short-circuit the Eagle attack.

McKeon ran for two touchdowns and passed for another, while Iacenda continued his workhorse ways with 146 yards in 22 carries and two touchdowns, including a one-yard run to open the scoring midway through the first quarter.

Fifteen minutes later, McKeon took advantage of Zimmerman’s first interception by working some option wizardry from the Eisenhower 18-yard line.

The 5-foot-8, 150-pound signal-caller sprinted around the left end, head-faked an Eagle defender to the turf and scampered down the left hash and into the end zone.

“The first time we ran that play that guy (defender) was just waiting on me and I made my decision to run a little too late,” McKeon said. “So the next time I anticipated his move and turned it right up into the hole. Eisenhower was the fastest team I’ve ever played in my life. You had to make your reads much faster.”

Eisenhower (1-4) took the ensuing kickoff and ran six plays, during which Hart called two timeouts and got the ball back on their 40-yard line with less than a minute to play in the half.

Three plays later, McKeon spotted receiver Todd Renfro running a deep slant and hit him in stride for a 42-yard touchdown and a 21-0 lead at the half.

Iacenda rumbled in for a two-yard score five minutes after intermission and McKeon ran in from 13 yards for the final touchdown with 1:30 left in the third quarter.

Hart held Eisenhower to 71 yards passing and 140 rushing.

McKeon completed nine of 12 passes for 197 yards and ran for 57 yards. Chris McCabe caught five passes for 79 yards.
