After following the suspects for two days, Torrance detectives arrested two men believed to be responsible for seven street robberies and automated teller machine holdups in Torrance during the last week. The arrests Thursday came moments after the suspects allegedly robbed a 22-year-old Whittier man at an ATM in the 2900 block of West Street in Pico Rivera.

Arrested on suspicion of robbery were Orlando Marcus Haygood, 20, and a 15-year-old male juvenile, both of Los Angeles.

According to Torrance police, the suspected robbers approached their victims at ATMs, gas stations and restaurant parking lots, drawing handguns and demanding cash, jewelry and telephone pagers. Based on a description of a getaway car, detectives identified the suspects and kept them under surveillance until they allegedly robbed the Whittier man.
