Dist. Atty. Bradbury Endorses MacElvaine
Ventura County Dist. Atty. Michael D. Bradbury has endorsed Republican Steve MacElvaine, a candidate in the 18th state Senate District.
Bradbury, in a prepared statement, praised MacElvaine for his support of law enforcement when he served as a San Luis Obispo County supervisor from 1979 to 1983.
“His leadership and experience will add a local voice for Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties,” Bradbury said.
MacElvaine, a cattle rancher and mobile home park owner, said he was honored to receive the endorsement of “one of the toughest prosecutors in the state of California. He doesn’t make snap judgments.”
MacElvaine is competing against Assemblyman Jack O’Connell (D-Carpinteria) for an open seat in the 18th District, which includes Ventura, Ojai and Santa Paula and all of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
