PICO RIVERA : Ex-Candidate Guilty of Violating Court Order
A Superior Court jury has convicted a former City Council candidate of violating a court order to stay away from his former wife.
David W. Armenta, 44, was placed on probation for a year by Judge John A. Torribio and was ordered to avoid contacting his former wife, Robin Cordova, 41.
Armenta, who ran unsuccessfully for council earlier this year, was acquitted of four other charges, including stalking and threatening Cordova and hitting a friend of hers, George Karavolos, 19, in the face.
Armenta and Cordova were divorced last year after 16 years of marriage.
