OUTLOOK

University moves to the Pacific Coast League and gets the nod as preseason league favorite, along with Costa Mesa, based on its depth and scoring ability. University will play at least 10 players and Bernal says the team could be the best in the school’s history. The Trojans have a nice balance of experienced seniors in Loud and Snavely and an incoming trio of freshmen Bernal thinks are among the best in the county. Loud was named to the first-team All-Sea View League as a junior, averaging 8.4 points and a little more than 10 rebounds. Snavely received honorable mention and averaged 8.6 points. Lawrence is a transfer from San Clemente and Day transferred from Villa Park. The Trojans will have to depend on speed to make up for the fact that they have no player taller than 5 feet 11. A league title and an extra long stay in postseason play are legitimate goals.
