LOS ALAMITOS : Golden State Futurity Finds Its Field of 10

Ah Sigh and Meter Me Gone dominated Friday night’s trials for the Dec. 16 Golden State Futurity. Each easily won a trial division at Los Alamitos, with Ah Sigh posting the fastest qualifying time for the $200,000-estimated final.

Owned by Frank Nakamura and trained by Charlie Bloomquist, Ah Sigh took the lead early in the 400-yard race and, under jockey John Creager, won by 1 1/2 lengths in 19.88 seconds for her seventh victory in eight starts. Alibis Assets ran second, a neck in front of Honey Who.

Far West Futurity winner Meter Me Gone was equally impressive, winning in 19.99 seconds. With Kenny Hart in the irons for trainer Danny Cardoza, the colt, owned by Vessels Stallion Farm, crossed the wire 1 1/4 lengths in front of Mistoffelees. Casual Eyes was third.

The Connie Hall-trained Joes Tol won the third and last trial in 19.90 seconds. Eddie Garcia rode the stakes-winning Tolltac filly, who is owned by Joseph Granone. A Dash Of Beduino finished second, with Doctor Mirth third.
