Saddleback Paper Makes College Top 5
Saddleback College’s newspaper, The Lariat, has been judged one of the nation’s top five community college newspapers.
The publication received the honor from the Associated College Press during the organization’s annual conference Nov. 6 in New Orleans. The Lariat received the National Pacemaker award. The newspaper also won the award in 1989.
The award is given for general excellence and was based on five issues of The Lariat published during the 1993-94 academic year.
In addition to being honored with the award, The Lariat was inducted into the Associated College Press Hall of Fame, in recognition of 10 consecutive semesters of publishing excellence.
