WESTMINSTER: Applicants Accepted for New Apartments

Application forms are now available for people 60 and older who are interested in renting an apartment at the Rose Gardens senior complex near Westminster’s Civic Center. Construction of the 132-unit complex is scheduled for completion by late this month and tenants are expected to start moving in by January.

To qualify, a person living alone must have an annual income of $24,720 or less. For two people, the income limit is $28,200 a year.

People who qualify will be selected by lottery.

CYPRESS: Senior Center Now Offers Books on Tape

Books on tape are now available at the Cypress Senior Citizens Center. Selections include bestsellers, romance novels, Westerns and classics.

Tapes and players must remain at the center, 9031 Grindlay St. south of Lincoln Avenue.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and only on special events in the evenings and weekends. Information: (714) 229-6776.

TUSTIN: Support Groups Meet All Through Week

A variety of support groups are being offered at the Tustin Area Senior Center.

A bereavement group meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays, an Alzheimer’s group meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday, and a Parkinson’s group meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month.

NEWPORT BEACH: Help for Adults With Aging Parents

Oasis Senior Center in Newport Beach is starting a support group for adults with aging parents. Topics are geared to people who are caring for their parents and want to exchange ideas about how to cope with the changes brought on by aging and the stress they put on the family.

The group will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at the center, 800 Marguerite Ave., Corona del Mar. Information: (714) 644-3244.

IRVINE: New Musical Group Seeks Singers, Players

A new singing group is forming at the Lakeside Senior Center.

The group is seeking singers, piano players and other instrumentalists. Rehearsals are held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at the Lakeview Senior Center, 20 Lake Road.
