OXNARD : Plans for Shopping Center Can Proceed

Share

The Oxnard City Council has allowed a developer to move forward with plans to build a shopping center on 16 acres across from the Shopping at the Rose complex.

Rothbart Development, which built the original complex, is seeking to construct another retail center in the area called Shopping at the Rose Too, which would include three large stores and several smaller shops at the northwest corner of Rose Avenue and Lockwood Street.

“We believe development of this project will enhance the entire corridor,” said developer Stanley Rothbart.

Council members agreed Tuesday that Rothbart could proceed with his plans, but said they were concerned about the impact the development would have on traffic in the already congested area.
