THOUSAND OAKS : Suspected Drug Dealer Arrested

Sheriff’s narcotics officers said Thursday that they have arrested a longtime drug dealer who had nearly 75 customers in Thousand Oaks.
Douglas Ramirez, 31, was out on bail for an earlier narcotics arrest and on probation for a felony drug-dealing conviction when he was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a police chase, Sgt. Gary Pentis said.
Ramirez was driving away from a house where he had delivered drugs at about 1 p.m. when he noticed that undercover police cars were following him, Pentis said.
Ramirez “put his foot into it,” Pentis said, and deputies chased him at speeds of more than 70 m.p.h. along Pederson Road before several deputies could box his car in with theirs and arrest him.
Ramirez faces charges of selling methamphetamine and possessing cocaine and marijuana for sale, Pentis said.
He was ordered held at Ventura County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
