Obituaries : Tony J. Hernandez; Former Santa Paula Planner

Tony J. Hernandez, a Ventura County resident for 75 years and a former Santa Paula planning commissioner, died Wednesday at his Santa Paula home after an extended illness. He was 79.
A retired construction laborer, Hernandez was an avid golfer and a member of several local service clubs. He is survived by his wife, Louisa S. Hernandez, six children, 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, and Mass will be said at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Santa Paula Cemetery.
