5.7 Earthquake Destroys Homes in Southern China

BEIJING —
A magnitude 5.7 earthquake rocked China’s southwestern Sichuan province before dawn today, causing houses to collapse and opening cracks in others, an official said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, an official of the Seismological Bureau in the southern Sichuan city of Leshan said.
