Laguna Hills Rolls to Win Tournament
Laguna Hills had five wrestlers advance to the final round and came away with four champions and 166 1/2 points to win the Montclair Invitational on Friday at Montclair High School.
Jeff Greco, ranked first in the county at 140 pounds, started the Hawks’ run by pinning Brian Smith of Montclair in 1 minute 47 seconds. Jeff’s brother Mike followed with a major decision, 9-0, against Gilbert Ochoa of Paramount at 145.
Laguna Hills’ Casey Elliott, at 152 pounds, scored a technical fall (21-6) over Jorge Huichan of Pico Rivera El Rancho and heavyweight Mark Zolikoff won, 10-8, in overtime.
Laguna Hills’ Scott Morinoue (135) and Abel Bratton (130) placed third.
