BREA — A man who crashed his car into another driver, a tree and an apartment building Tuesday may have suffered a stroke while driving, officials said.
Earl Nitta, 50, was listed in stable condition at Brea Community Hospital on Tuesday night.
Nitta hit another driver, who was unharmed, before crashing into two units of an apartment complex at 230 W. Central at 8:32 a.m. Nitta was trapped inside the vehicle until he was freed by firefighters.
None of the apartment’s occupants were harmed, and there was no structural damage, said Capt. Paul Bartley of the Brea Fire Department.
