Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man suspected in the stabbing death Saturday of a 49-year-old Huntington Beach man.

The victim, Rodney McAvoy, was found inside an apartment in the 7600 block of Ellis Avenue when police arrived in response to a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said. Paramedics transported McAvoy to the Huntington Beach Medical Center, where he later died.

Late Saturday, police identified Robert W. Kozy Jr. of Huntington Beach as a suspect in the killing and asked for the public’s help in locating him. Kozy was described by witnesses as having blond hair and green eyes, about 6 feet tall and 175 pounds.
