LA HABRA HEIGHTS : City to Order Removal of Storage Bins, Trailers
The city is moving to get rid of metal shipping containers and large truck trailers used by some residents for storage.
The City Council has given owners until early next year to remove the unsightly storage bins. Mayor Judith Hathaway-Francis compared the containers and trailers to “abandoned cars.”
If owners of the containers do not comply, the city will haul the containers away.
Many Southeast-area cities such as Cerritos, Lakewood, Compton, Long Beach and Pico Rivera have banned such containers. Whittier, Downey, Paramount and Hawaiian Gardens allow them in some areas.
