The Super Bowl Sunday Blues

Share

If you don’t have any friends with big-screen TVs that you can watch on Super Bowl Sunday, Eric Dickerson wants to be your friend. Really.

Dickerson, the former Ram/Colt/Raider, will host “The First Annual Super Bowl Party” at the House of Blues, where two giant screens will displace the live performers and their musical instruments for an afternoon. Of course there is an ulterior motive--and it’s a good one. The event will raise money for Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles, of which Dickerson is a longtime supporter. For $25 in advance, $30 at the door, you not only get to help out the Big Brothers and watch California’s teams (the San Francisco 49ers and the San Diego Chargers) duel for the pigskin, but you can also pig out at the dinner buffet.

A sports memorabilia silent auction will be ongoing throughout the day, with such treasures as a Dan Marino jersey or a football signed by Joe Montana up for bid.

The party starts at 2 p.m. (game time is 3:18 p.m.) at the House of Blues, 8430 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood. To order tickets, call (213) 650-0476.
