A 15-year-old Lancaster boy was killed Thursday morning when the Jeep in which he was riding struck a curb and overturned.

Christopher Ragan was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from head injuries suffered in the 8:40 a.m. accident.

Three other teen-agers, including the 16-year-old driver of the 1993 Jeep Cherokee, received minor injuries.

The Jeep was traveling east on Avenue K and struck a curb as the driver attempted to turn north onto 13th Street E, said Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Redding. The vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof.

Sheriff’s traffic investigators are still looking into the cause of the accident.

“We’re not sure,” Redding said. “There were some skid marks and we’ll do a speed analysis.” Two of the four teen-agers were wearing seat belts, but Christopher was not one of them, Redding said.
