Orange County Almanac

Share

Some sharp and jagged pieces of Orange County’s past are on display at the county Hall of Administration in Santa Ana.

The exhibit includes items excavated from some turn-of-the-century homes near the Civic Center. The residences were razed 20 years ago to make way for a building housing the Orange County Transportation Agency.

The display case on the first floor of the Hall of Administration includes a variety of pieces of soda and tonic bottles from the 1920s; fragments of antique ceramic cups and plates; colorful marbles from the early 20th Century, and pages from 90-year-old Santa Ana business directories.
