LaCresha Clark

SCHOOL: Hart

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Senior

SEASON AT A GLANCE: Clark has been the cornerstone of a Hart team (16-5, 7-1) which is favored to defend its Foothill League championship. “She makes us go,” Indian Coach Dave Munroe said. Clark, selected second-team All-Valley by The Times and also the league’s most valuable player last season, is averaging 15.4 points per game. The Indians are 15-3 when Clark scores in double figures, 1-2 when she does not.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Clark scored 21 points last Tuesday in a victory over Burbank, but it was her effort on Saturday that stood out. While playing with a cold, she almost single-handedly outscored Burroughs in a 58-29 victory. She scored a career-high 28 points and added seven rebounds, five steals and four assists to lead the rout. The victory avenged an earlier loss to Burroughs, which snapped Hart’s league winning streak at 24 games. Clark’s all-around performance enabled the Indians to tie Burroughs (7-1) for first place.
