HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Two Goals From Lee Are Too Much for Chaminade

Steve Lee scored his seventh and eighth goals as Notre Dame defeated Chaminade, 2-1, Wednesday in a Mission League boys’ match at Notre Dame.

Reza Zamani scored for Chaminade (8-9-2, 3-5) in the 39th minute on an assist from Mike Wright.

Juan Plascencia made eight saves for the Celts (11-5, 7-1), which won their fourth consecutive match.

Chaminade’s Matt Vacca had three saves in the first half. Reserve Matt Zaidner made five saves in the second half.

El Camino Real 2, San Fernando 0--Guillermo Castaneda scored in the first half and Walter Salinas in the second to give El Camino Real (4-7-2, 2-5-2 in Northwest Valley Conference play) its first victory over San Fernando in the 12-year history of the Conquistadore program.

Carlos Ponce made five saves for El Camino Real.

Alemany 3, Crespi 1--Julio Archila had a goal and an assist for the Indians (10-11-2, 2-7) in a Mission League match at Alemany.

Archila opened the scoring on a corner kick from John McDonald 10 minutes into the match. Jeff Limpus scored on an assist from Archila to give the Indians a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Pat McMenamin scored on an assist from Paul Funicello to extend Alemany’s lead. Bill Bush scored late in the match for Crespi.

Tom Bomar had five saves for Alemany.

GIRLS

Chatsworth 8, Reseda 0--Freshman Brianna Preis and Michelle George each scored two goals for the Chancellors (11-1-1, 8-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference match.

La Reina 9, Fillmore 0--Tara Lyerly scored three goals and Katie Nelson added two as the Regents breezed in a Tri-Valley League match at Wildflower Park in Thousand Oaks.

La Reina, four-time defending league champion, outshot Fillmore, 39-0, to win its 39th consecutive league match.

El Camino Real 6, Kennedy 0--Courtney Henderson scored a career-high five goals for the Conquistadores (6-2-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference match at Kennedy. Cindy Hill also scored and Sara Simon added four assists.

Chaminade 1, Notre Dame 0--Michelle French scored for the Eagles (15-3-2, 6-0) in a Mission League match at Chaminade. Chaminade’s Tami Pivnick had the assist and Kim Nelli made a career-high 18 saves.

Westlake 2, Newbury Park 0--Julie Crawford and Erica Bodigheiner scored for the Warriors in a Marmonte League match.

Dawn Anderson made seven saves for Newbury Park (9-5-3, 4-4-2).

Angela Paymard stopped six shots for Westlake.
